Minor Arcana Discs

Inner Journey Oracle Minor Arcana Discs: this was a project that I spent more than six years creating. Each card was created by cutting out pictures from magazines, assembled to portray the meanings of the Rider tarot deck and glued onto backgrounds. Next I scanned each image and wrote my interpretation of the meanings of the cards. This is strictly an art project and will not be reproduced. Ace of Discs

The Ace of Discs indicates new possibilities either in the form of a new job or career, a new way of living, lifestyle or diet. Expect a promotion, wage increase or chance to move to a more prestigious job or career. There is a new opportunity coming up, a path leading to new expression and new fulfilment. You will gain greater control over the material resources of the earth and prosper to your fullest potential. Anything connected to financial or material circumstances is brought about by the Ace of Discs.

Expressive and powerful, the new energy of the Ace of Discs signifies a lasting change for the better after a challenging period. This is a good money card, especially for those who speculate or take risks. Success is certain and riches will come, but you must be patient. You will be blessed with an abundance of energy and the drive and determination to work for your goals.

This is not only the card of material riches but of spiritual riches as well and you may meet someone whose effect upon your life will be profound. Remember, however, security and contentment are not connected to finances alone, they are also a state of mind.

When reversed, the Ace of Discs can suggest troubles or issues with money. Sometimes, these are emotional problems related to greed or hoarding and it relates to a general belief in scarcity no matter what the circumstances. This card may also indicate that a new source of income can provide you with more money but not necessarily more happiness.

Two of Discs

The Two of Discs indicates that what has begun is slowly being built. You are putting your resources to work for you and learning to juggle and make do as you develop what you have started. You must recognize the importance of flexibility and also that it is possible to recognize, even enjoy the dualities of life.

Dualities exist and interact within a higher principle so don’t decide that you must take just one position. Consider alternatives and achieve a balance in situations. One day you may be extremely busy and the next day you may be bored. Likewise, you may experience financial fluctuations where one month you are scrambling for spare change and then next month you have an abundant cash flow.

You are being given the opportunity to develop additional skills to open your own business or a new partnership. Even though you may have to perform extra work to get something you want, it's important to seek help when required. Take care to budget as this is not a time of large cash flow; however, circumstances will improve if you are clever in using your funds to their best advantage. Working and social situations are happy at this time.

When reversed, the Two of Discs indicates that everything seems out of balance. Money seems to go out faster than it comes in and looming debts can seem impossible. At first, it is easy to blame your fluctuating moods on your job and money chaos. Really though, it is important to realize that the common denominator is you. Once you apply yourself, everything will gain direction and purpose.

Three of Discs

The Three of Discs implies success through cooperation, hard work and effort. It is the card of the tradesman, artist or builder. The initial completion of your first goal of many is indicated in the fulfilment and manifestation of a creative venture, business, or building project. Satisfaction is being enjoyed and the project is well underway. However, this card does not indicate the completion of any project, simply the first phase as you have built the foundation and the structure and now you must prepare to move on to the next level.

Much time has been invested in learning the new skills required to become a master, especially in the field of arts or craft including woodworking and construction. The tests have been successfully passed and the effort invested is about to pay off. You have reached the height of your profession and are now regarded with respect.

The message of this card is one of encouragement as you continue to work toward the completion of your goals. You have gained the self confidence you need to feel competent in all that you set out to accomplish. Set your goals high and know that you can do anything you set your mind to. Ultimately you will experience prosperity and success as long as you do not allow disillusionment to dampen your spirits.

When reversed, the Three of Discs often indicates delays in success where you are generally the cause of the delay. Either fear of failure or unwillingness to commit to the path of learning are the usual culprits. It is necessary to remember why and if gaining these skills are important to you and to realize that most good things require discipline and hard work.

Four of Discs

The Four of Discs often shows an exaggerated need for security in the form of materialism or love of wealth and luxury.  Fearful of loss, you may be hanging on to either resources or your identity. You may think you have to protect your money from others who might try to take what is yours. If you've been through a period of trying to stretch every dollar, things will be easier for you now. This card doesn't represent a period of extreme riches, it more about financial stability.

More money will be coming in than going out and with careful planning there will even be some left over. This is the time to look into saving and learning to use your resources wisely rather than just spending it. Take care of your money and it will take care of you.

Be careful that you haven't fallen into the trap of judging people by what they have rather than who they are. Money is not everything and, while you need financial security, there are other matters of equal or greater importance which must be addressed. What you have or do is not who you are. Be sure to be a little generous to those around you and to yourself.

When reversed, the Four of Discs suggests your mind is consumed by thoughts of money. Whether financially worried, strapped for cash, or guilty of hoarding, greed or being miserly, you can't think beyond cash. It may be that your are the responsible one in your household and, while others are spending up a storm, you are the one worrying about the bills.

There is no easy solution but it is crucial to have faith that your circumstances will change.

Endings such as leaving a job or career or a way of living are indicated. You are going into the unknown feeling some loss and sadness. This card may also indicate detachment from the spiritual side of life. Perhaps you have become so attached to material wealth and gain that you’ve become spiritually desolate. This is a reminder that money isn't everything and you must also maintain a proper perspective on the spiritual and emotional side of life.

Family and friends will be helpful and offer badly needed emotional support while you are feeling a sense of loss of faith in your abilities. Try to rise to the challenge and draw on your inner strength. You cannot live in the past so try to be realistic and regard your crisis as an opportunity to look within yourself to see what you need to do. Once you take the first step, you will feel more hopeful.

When reversed, the Five of Discs suggests a period of insecurity and lack has ended. You have worked hard to change your situation and things are looking up. Other forms of help appear, possibly in the form of a grant or gift. While you won't forget the troubles you’ve experienced, you realize that you’ve become a stronger person for it.

Six of Discs

The Six of Discs suggests the showing of great kindness, generosity and the sharing of resources which may be either given or received. This is also a card of charity work and donations. If you are currently struggling, you may receive a donation or a grant which will help you forge ahead in school or business or other venture with which you need financial support.

If this is a period of good fortune for you, and you have an abundance of resources, remembering to give for the benefit of those who are not so fortunate. Use the abundance that comes to you and be generous and ensure that others benefit appropriately from your abundance. That's the best way that you can thank the Universe for flowing with you; what goes around comes around.

Any purchases made now are likely to be good and sound and business transactions will likely be quite favourable. You may meet someone who offers you a new job or financial support for a new venture or you may offer a job to someone else. Your faith in human nature will be restored.

When reversed, the Six of Discs may show someone who has made it and enjoys the attention of being in a dominant position and attempts to control others by offering monetary support. Money may need to be shared through separation or divorce. As a caution to take care, remember to treat your money with respect and use it wisely. A fool and his money are soon parted.

Satisfied with your progress thus far, you realize there is still much to do. A good foundation has been laid with much effort and hard work. When you see the potential in a new project and get busy, you put energy into motion. Working on a new project can be as fulfilling as gazing in satisfaction a the finished product. The reward is in the journey toward the completion as well as the completion itself.
