Photography as a Hobby not a Profession
I love photography, but more than that I love photographs. Being a memory keeper, photos hold pieces of the past. Old tattered, faded sepia shaded photos of my grandparents from the early 1900s are treasures that have been scanned and sorted and used to make digital photo collages. In my early 20s I used my mom’s old camera with a 120 film, two pictures per negative. Later I had a Minolta and a Nikon and a variety of lenses and filters and spent a lot of time experimenting. However, each roll only had a few photos that I really loved. I still have one pre-digital camera and all my filters that I use on my new DSLR Nikon. Photography is more convenient now, I can take hundreds of photos and keep the really good ones.
While I appreciate the many amazing professional photographers out there, I have no intention of becoming a professional photographer myself. I just love to learn new techniques and take pictures so I’m going to share some of my photos on this website just for fun. Most photos are scenic, sunsets and flowers. Some have been altered in Photoshop to make them more interesting and because I love to experiment. And yes Photoshop and some of the other Adobe programs are yet another hobby.
